How can you take your sight reading to the next level,
to bring the music you love to life?
The solution is at your fingertips...
You've played piano for years.
You already understand sheet music notation.
You don't need another app drilling you on note names...
You could follow the usual sight reading advice, "Just do it a lot."
But remember: To truly develop a skill, it's not what you do that matters...
It's how you do it!
So, how do great sight readers do it?
They may (or may not) be skilled in music theory, composition, or improvisation...
But ALL great sight readers possess a specific skill which is largely kept secret.
You also have this latent ability. You just need to give it a little time and attention.
There is one skill they ALL have in common, which is rarely talked about:
They have a great FEEL for the keyboard.
This allows them to sight read and rarely look down. By keeping their eyes on the page,
they establish a feedback loop: see the notes, feel the keys, listen to the music...
Thanks to this skill, great sight readers are confident, love sight reading,
and enjoy the musical, social, and financial benefits of learning new music quickly.
Now it's your turn.
These trainings and games will guide you, step by step.

Is Spark for you?
Yes, if:
- You’ve sat at the piano, staring at sheet music,
wishing you could bring it to life right away.
- You understand music notation, but struggle with sight reading.
- You constantly look down at the keys while sight reading.
- You'd like more professional opportunities (gigs, teaching, etc.)
but feel restricted by your sight reading level.
In other words,
You'd like the world of piano music
to open up for you!

"I've been learning to play the piano for the last couple of years, using a variety of online materials. All of these recommend keeping your eyes on the score and off the keyboard; however, very few explain how this skill is to be achieved. David has developed a detailed and carefully thought-out program to help increase your confidence while sight reading material for the first time. I can thoroughly recommend it!" -- John H.

You'll develop the essential 5 Core Skills
to SPARK your sight reading:
Shapes, Positions, Anchors, Regions, & Know
SHAPES
Shapes are groups of notes. You will learn to quickly recognize,
feel, and play chord shapes and melodic shapes.
This alone will jumpstart your sight reading.
Spark is unique because you will not only learn the about the skill mentally.
You will not just be told to “chunk groups of notes.” You will be guided, step-by-step.
Spark is not just sight reading advice — it’s an experience!
POSITIONS
What makes piano sight reading particularly challenging?
The fact that we are constantly changing hand positions on the keyboard.
You will learn exactly how to shift hand positions confidently and directly,
without looking down!
ANCHORS
An anchor is a fingertip or key that guides your movement.
Good sight readers use anchors constantly, but this skill largely remains a secret.
Once you understand them, you’ll start recognizing them everywhere,
and will feel much more grounded on the keyboard, without looking down.
There are three types of anchors, and each is critical to your sight reading success.
REGIONS
As musical instruments go, the piano keyboard is an especially LONG one.
We have to cover a lot of ground!
You'll learn how to find any key immediately, without looking down.
KNOW
By developing these Core Skills, you'll be able to look
at sheet music and know how it will FEEL to play.
You'll also know whether the notes you're playing are correct,
without needing to look down to check.
This will give you confidence and true, reliable control as a sight reader.

"Before I started these games... I had to keep looking down at my fingers. I find now that... it’s much easier to go from one position to another [without looking down]. I’ve also started reading more by intervals which I always found really difficult. I just can’t recommend these games highly enough; they’re fantastic!" --Joy A.
