Shapes are groups of notes. You will learn to quickly recognize, 

feel, and play chord shapes and melodic shapes.

What makes piano sight reading particularly challenging?

The fact that we are constantly changing hand positions on the keyboard.

ANCHORS

An anchor is a fingertip or key that guides your movement. 

Good sight readers use anchors constantly, but this skill largely remains a secret.

Once you understand them, you’ll start recognizing them everywhere,

and will feel much more grounded on the keyboard, without looking down. 

There are three types of anchors, and each is critical to your sight reading success. 

REGIONS

As musical instruments go, the piano keyboard is an especially LONG one.

We have to cover a lot of ground! 

You'll learn how to find any key immediately, without looking down.

KNOW

By developing these Core Skills, you'll be able to look

at sheet music and know how it will FEEL to play.

You'll also know whether the notes you're playing are correct,

without needing to look down to check.
